The Yard Ocean City NJ FAQ: Winter Hours, Ages & Prices
We get a lot of the same questions about The Yard at 741 West Ave in Ocean City, NJ, especially once summer ends and the schedule changes. So here are straight answers from the crew that runs it: when we are open this winter, who can climb, what it costs, and how to book.
Is The Yard open in the winter?
Yes. Our regular weekend sessions wrapped up for 2026 after October 25, and The Yard is closed on weekends this winter, including Thanksgiving weekend. But the nets are not empty. Here is what is running:
- Wednesday open play, 9:30 to 11:30 AM. This is the public session all winter.
- Optional music class, 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Wednesdays, right before open play. Music with Morgan is a nice warm-up for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Private parties and special events on other dates, by reservation.

What ages is The Yard for?
- Sky Net (ages 2+): more than 3,000 square feet of suspended nets and obstacles, plus everything Under the Net includes.
- Under the Net (ages 1+): access to the property and our yard games, for little ones not ready to climb.
- Kids under 3 must have a parent with them in the net.
Kids ages 2 to 10 have the most fun on the Sky Net, but bigger kids enjoy it too.
How much does it cost?
Current admission on The Yard page is $25 for a Sky Net participant and $15 for an Under the Net child, for a 2-hour single session. Confirm rates when you book.
Do parents have to pay?
Up to 2 parents or guardians are included with each paid participant. If your child is under 3, plan to climb in with them, so wear something you can crawl around in.
Is The Yard indoors or outdoors?
Both. The Sky Net is an open-air playground, so dress for the weather in winter: warm layers, hats, and gloves, plus clothes and closed-toe shoes kids can climb in. Inside, The Yard has Ocean City's only Full Swing golf and sports simulator.
How does the golf and sports simulator work?
The sports simulator is for ages 5+ and holds up to 6 people per bay. You can play more than 50 world-famous golf courses or over 20 other games, including soccer, football, lacrosse, and dodgeball. Listed rates are:
- $70 for 1 hour
- $140 for 2 hours
- $210 for 3 hours
- $199 for a private space rental (BYOB) for up to 12 people, 7:30 to 9:30 PM

Can we have a birthday party at The Yard?
Yes. The birthday parties page lists two options:
- Public party, starting at $220 for 10 kids: your own reserved table during an open play session. This winter, that means Wednesday mornings.
- Private party, starting at $750 for up to 60 people: exclusive use of The Yard with two hours of private access.

Do we need a waiver?
Yes. A signed waiver is required for every guest, and a parent or guardian signs for minors. Do it ahead of time so you are not filling it out at the gate.
