Rainy Day at The Yard in Ocean City NJ: Indoor Simulator Plan

Indoor Full Swing golf and sports simulator bay at The Yard in Ocean City, NJ, with seating for a rainy-day session

When the bay is a washout, we don't send you to a movie theater. We send you to 741 West Ave. The Yard is our aerial playground and indoor sports simulator. On a weather day, the indoor bay is the plan that actually works.

Why The Yard is the indoor plan

Aqua Park, Beachy Tiki, and Shark Bait all run at 228 Bay Ave. Those are water days. Rain, wind, or a tide that doesn't cooperate, and the dock gets quiet. The Yard is a few blocks inland. The Full Swing simulator is indoors. The cafe is indoors. You book a bay, sit down, and the kids still get to move.

The Yard's own sports-simulator page calls it all-weather entertainment. That's the honest pitch. SkyNet is the outdoor net park. If the rain is light and you still want to climb, that's a separate ticket. If it's coming down, skip the nets and book the simulator.

What's inside on a weather day

The indoor sports simulator is Ocean City's only Full Swing golf and sports bay. As listed on theyardocnj.com/sports-simulator right now:

  • Simulator bay, 1 hour: $70, up to 6 people
  • 2 hours: $140
  • 3 hours: $210
  • Private space rental (BYOB), up to 12 people, 7:30–9:30 PM: $199

Golf is the headline. Full Swing has 50+ courses. If nobody in the group golfs, that's fine. The same bay runs 20+ games: soccer, football, baseball, lacrosse, dodgeball, and more. Seating is in the bay for whoever isn't swinging.

The Yard Cafe is new for summer 2026. La Colombe coffee and espresso, plus frozen lemonades and frozen mochas. Sit, drink, watch the kids play. We don't list cafe prices on the site, so check at the counter.

SkyNet if the rain lets up

SkyNet is 3,000 sq ft of suspended nets. Ticket age is 2+. The live page says ages 2–10 have the most fun up there. As listed on theyardocnj.com/the-yard:

  • SkyNet participant, 2-hour session: $25
  • "Under The Net" child, 2-hour session: $15 (yard games, not the nets)
  • Up to 2 parents or guardians included with a paid participant

The homepage also lists 1 adult plays free per child. Confirm both when you book. Simulator access is separate from SkyNet. Don't assume a net ticket gets you the bay.

What to bring

  • Closed-toe shoes you can move in. Leave the flip-flops in the car.
  • A light layer. The indoor bay is not a beach.
  • Phone for photos. Don't plan to hold it on SkyNet if you go up.
  • ID for the adult booking the simulator
  • Snacks for little kids. The cafe covers coffee and frozen drinks; we don't list a full kids menu on the site.

Skip golf clubs. The bay is already set up.

How to book

Book The Yard on theyardocnj.com. Simulator hours and SkyNet slots are on the calendar there, not a fixed clock we post on the homepage. Don't walk up on a rainy Saturday and assume there's an open bay.
