Beachy Tiki Night Out Charter in Ocean City NJ: First-Timer Guide

Big Beachy Tiki boat cruising the back bays with guests aboard in Ocean City, NJ

Beachy Tiki Night Out Charter in Ocean City NJ: First-Timer Guide

If you want the Big Tiki for just your group after dark, Night Out is the charter. It is a private 2-hour run that starts at 8:30 PM on the 40-foot Beachy Tiki out of 228 Bay Ave. Up to 32 people. Music, mood lighting, a real restroom, and the back bays without sharing the boat with strangers.

What Night Out is (and is not)

Night Out is listed on beachytiki.com/big-tiki as a private charter: 8:30 PM, 2 hours, includes up to 32 people. The live site lists it at $1,400 for the boat. Confirm the current rate when you book.

It is not a public ticketed tour. Public Big Tiki tours sell adult (ages 13+) and child (12 and under) seats and may include other guests. Night Out is your private occasion—birthday, anniversary, reunion, or a crew that wants the whole boat after sunset.

What you get on the Big Tiki

The Big Tiki is a custom 40-foot catamaran built for up to 32 passengers. Cushioned bench seating, rail bar-top seats, an ice chest at the bar for BYOB, a high-fidelity sound system, and ambient plus active mood lighting. There is a fully plumbed restroom with a flushing toilet and fresh water sink. The roof covers the boat for shade and rain.

Private charters can add catering. Ask when you book if you want food handled for the group. Music on a private charter is yours to control—tell the mate what you want in the rotation.

Public tour vs Night Out vs Little Tikis

  • Public Big Tiki tour — shared seats when space is open; adult and child pricing from the Big Tiki page; good when you do not need the whole boat.
  • Night Out / private Big Tiki — your group only, up to 32; Night Out is the 8:30 PM, 2-hour private slot.
  • Little Tikis — private boats for up to 6 at beachytiki.com/little-tikis if your crew is small.

What to bring

  • BYOB in a backpack or soft cooler only—no wheeled or hard coolers
  • Snacks you can pass around (food is not provided unless you add catering on a private charter)
  • Closed-toe shoes for the docks and deck; skip high heels
  • A light layer—the bay cools off after dark even when the boardwalk still feels warm
  • Cash or a plan to tip the captain and mate (customary; they split tips)

You will not get soaked on purpose—bathing suits are optional. Smoking and vaping are not allowed on the boat, docks, or property. The Big Tiki runs rain or shine under the roof; check your confirmation if weather looks ugly.

How to plan the night

  • Count heads early. Cap is 32, and Night Out includes the full boat for your party.
  • Meet at 228 Bay Ave, Ocean City, NJ (Boathouse Marina)—same dock as Shark Bait.
  • Arrive with time to check in before the 8:30 PM start. Do not cut it close with boardwalk parking.
  • Pick one organizer for the guest list, cooler rules, and the booking confirmation.
  • Book the slot that shows as available online. Departure times and open dates live on the FareHarbor calendar—use what is actually bookable.

Book Night Out

Reserve on beachytiki.com/big-tiki, the main Beachy Tiki site, or FareHarbor for totallytubularwatersports. Questions: 609-398-9000.

Book your Beachy Tiki Night Out charter for the private 8:30 PM Big Tiki, bring a soft cooler, and let the crew run the bay.
